How to Ride a Motorbike in Vietnam - and SURVIVE

Motorbike traffic in Vietnam is insane, but there is a method to the madness. By far the most challenging areas to drive in are the busy cities such as Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.  Surprisingly, once you get out of the busy city centers, driving becomes a piece of cake.  The video attached to this article is a lighthearted look at how to ride a motorbike in Vietnam and survive. There is certainly something to be said about safety in number while driving a scooter in Vietnam. There was a comfort in the fact there are so few cars on the roads.  This stands in contrast to a place like Bali, where cars and scooters jockey for position on narrow roads.  The most important thing to remember while driving in ANY south east Asian country is that the bigger vehicle has the right of way.  Can't argue with that! Most of the roads between towns and cities were very well maintained.  This left you free to focus your attention on the natural beauty of the country as well as keep a sharp lookout for cows on the road. If you're at all a fan of motorcycles, motorbikes, or scooters, you owe it to yourself to do a trip from South to North in Vietnam sometime in your life.
