Best way to get around-

If planning to travel to Croatia, a flight is going to be your best bet. If you're planning on doing travels all around Europe, we recommend flying into a major hub first like London, Paris, or Amsterdam, then heading towards Croatia. Flying directly into Croatia can be expensive, so looking for these hubs first will help lighten the cost.

Once in Croatia, there are plenty of easy, cost-effective ways to travel around. Check out the public ferries and buses that will get you from A to B and typically offer all-day passes. Motorbikes are also common in Croatia and make it easier to travel independently. Be sure to have traveler's insurance if planning on renting any form of transportation and be aware of local laws as well!

Safety:

Croatia is a very safe place to travel to! While petty crimes and theft can occur anywhere, the risk of running into crime or violence is quite low. Be sure to read situations carefully and be aware of your surroundings.

When To Visit:

High season is going to be in the summer months of June-August. Although this is prime time for weather, good weather always brings the tourists. The shoulders of the busy summer season are the best time to visit for fewer crowds and lower prices. If the cold doesn't bother you, and skiing rather than sunbathing is more up your alley, winter in Croatia is just as beautiful! Croatia is becoming quite the travel destination, and we can see why!

What To Eat:

Croatians definitely have great taste in food. The food ranges anywhere from fresh seafood to incredible pastries. Crni Rizot (squid risotto) is a must-try.

Resources

Hostels are pretty common in the larger cities and are great for budget traveling. If hostels aren't your thing, look into renting a camper van! Great for combining transportation and accommodation costs. Hotels and guesthouses are also great options and can have some incredible views. Check out Airbnb's in the area as well!

What to Pack:

Croatia uses the standard European plugs. If looking for a power adapter, you'll want a Type F adapter, but we recommend just opting for a universal adapter. The easiest way to travel anywhere is to travel light!
